Smarter Scenes: Now Supporting More Eligible Device Groups as Actions

We’re excited to announce a powerful update to your smart home automation experience: Scene actions now support more eligible device groups. This means you can now include groups of devices—not just individual ones—when setting up scene actions, giving you more control with fewer steps.

What's New?

Previously, when setting up a scene, you could add multiple devices as individual actions, but you had to select and configure each one separately. Now, with support for device groups as scene actions, you can control a whole group of devices—such as lights, switches, heaters, or curtains—with just one action. It’s faster, easier, and perfect for scenes like “Goodnight” or “Back Home.”

Why It Matters

Using device groups in scenes makes automations faster, smarter, and more intuitive. Here are a few practical examples:

• “Goodnight” Scene: Turn off all the lights in your home and close every curtain at once.
• “Back Home” Scene: Power up multiple heaters and turn on selected lights when you arrive.
• “Movie Time” Scene: Dim the living room lights and lower the blinds for the perfect atmosphere.
• “Summer Cool Down” Scene: Turn on all grouped air conditioners or fans together to quickly cool your space.

By grouping devices of the same type (like three 3-gang switches or all your smart plugs), your scenes become more streamlined and powerful, reducing the need to manually configure each device.

How to Create a Device Group

1. Open the eWeLink app and navigate to the “Devices” tab.
2. Tap on a device to enter the Device Settings page, then select “Create Group.”
3. Choose other devices of the same type that you’d like to include in the group.
4. Tap Save, then give your group a name.
5. Your group is now ready to use in any scene as a single action.
