Why can't I pair or add my device successfully?

Answer

If you are unable to pair your device with the eWeLink app, try the following troubleshooting steps:

Make sure the device is in pairing mode.
Different devices may enter pairing mode in different ways, usually by pressing and holding a button. Please refer to the product manual for the correct pairing method.
Check your Wi-Fi network.
Stay close to the router during pairing and make sure your phone is connected to a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network if your device only supports 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi.
Check the Wi-Fi name and password.
Make sure the Wi-Fi name and password are entered correctly.
Turn off mobile data temporarily.
Disable mobile data on your phone during pairing to prevent the phone from switching between Wi-Fi and mobile data.
Refresh the Home page in the eWeLink app.
This helps confirm that your account is connected properly and may help avoid issues related to the same account being signed in on multiple devices.
Check the Wi-Fi signal strength.
Make sure the device is within good range of the router. Long distances, walls, or other obstacles may weaken the Wi-Fi signal and affect pairing.
Restart your router.
Restart the router, wait until the Wi-Fi connection is restored, and then try pairing the device again.
Update the eWeLink app.
Make sure you are using the latest version of the eWeLink app.
Try another phone.
If possible, try pairing the device using another phone to help determine whether the issue is related to the phone or app environment.

If the device still cannot be paired, please record a video of the complete pairing process, making sure the device's indicator light is clearly visible.

Then submit a new feedback ticket in the eWeLink app and agree to upload the app logs. After submitting the ticket, please send the pairing video and an issue description to support@ewelink.zendesk.com.
