Answer
LAN Control allows you to control supported devices locally when your phone and the device are connected to the same Wi-Fi network.
One of its main benefits is that you can continue controlling the device over your local network even if the Wi-Fi network temporarily loses its internet connection.
How to Enable LAN Control
- Open the device control page in the eWeLink app.
- Go to Device Settings.
- Enable LAN Control.
When your phone and the device are connected to the same Wi-Fi network, the app can use the local network to control the device.
What Happens When LAN Control Is Enabled?
When LAN Control is enabled and your phone and device are on the same Wi-Fi network:
- The device can be controlled through the local network.
- If the Wi-Fi network loses internet access, you can still control the device locally.
What Happens When LAN Control Is Disabled?
When LAN Control is disabled, the app uses the normal cloud connection to control the device, even when your phone and device are connected to the same Wi-Fi network.
If the Wi-Fi network loses internet access, the device will appear offline in the eWeLink app and cannot be controlled through the app until the internet connection is restored.
Note: LAN Control is only available on supported devices.
