Question
What should I do if my device does not respond when I try to control it in the eWeLink app?
Answer
If your device is not responding, first check whether the device itself is working properly.
1. Test the Device Using the Physical Switch or Button
Try turning the device on or off using its physical switch or button. If the device does not respond to physical operation, the issue may be related to the device itself.
2. Check Your Network Connection and Device Status
Make sure your phone has a stable network connection, and check whether the device is showing as online in the eWeLink app.
If the device is offline, it cannot be controlled remotely. An offline device will appear grey in the app.
If the device is offline, try the following:
-
Restart the device.
Power off the device for about 30 seconds, then power it back on. Wait for it to reconnect and check whether it comes back online. You can try this several times if necessary. -
Delete and re-add the device.
Check the device’s power, Wi-Fi signal, router connectivity, and any recent Wi-Fi password changes. If the device still cannot reconnect, consult its pairing instructions before removing and re-adding it. Re-pairing may require restoring device settings or automations.
Once the device is back online, try controlling it again in the eWeLink app.
